I think a lot of folks are having the same thoughts about posting your work, witty quips, and life on social media; we need to find a different avenue to share our work.

Social media is not what it used to be, sorry to sound like an old grump, but there was a time where your posts were shared with the people who follow you and you had ownership of your work. So, instead of waiting on “the next instagram” I’m going to post more regularly to my website via a blog/newsletter.

This means you need to go out of your way to see updates on my work but I’d like to make it worth your while! You might remember a series of tutorials I posted on instagram during the pandemic. Those very casual videos were so fun to make. The wider acceptance of DIY during the pandemic inspired people to start projects messy and share online just to keep everyone entertained. I didn’t keep up with the tutorials because ultimately the motivation to post dwindled from the pressure to appease the algorithm. But overtime, instagram has beaten any ego out of me regarding engagement online and I’ve stopped caring! Yay!

With all that said, I feel the best place to be more consistent sharing my work is my very own website.
